These ducks learned how to find water, how to swim,
how to mate, and how to find food. Makes sense to me
that those abilities were somehow stored in their genes
somewhere - likely in the sub atomic memory banks
that all matter has.
One of the phenomenons of the human mind is that it will
want what you feed it. Same goes for the
body. Being that you’re already in motion
of doing whatever it is you’re doing, you’ll want to keep doing it – whether it’s
good behavior, bad behavior, or even if it’s mostly that you’re doing nothing. As I mentioned before, the law of Inertia
when something is in motion, it will continue in that direction until something
acts on it. When something is sitting
still, it will continue to sit still until something acts on it – again – the human
mind and body work the same way.
In reference to the previous chapter, if you’re
misdirecting your anger, you’ll want to continue doing so, until something
(your own effort) acts on it. The good
news is, it doesn’t take long to form a new path – a month or two on average for
most things. If you can figure out what
the problem is – why you are so easily angered, understand that THAT is the
cause of the pathology, and understand that the trauma is what is causing your
anger, you may be able to deal with it, and eliminate it from your being. If you were bullied by your dad when you were
a little kid (most traumas occur in the first five years of life), you learn
that, understand that you’re not that little kid anymore, and that you don’t
have to fight with your dad for the rest of your life, you may end your
suffering in that area. It’s not as
simple as just that, it takes some studying, learning, and applying – not to be
confused with shutting off an emotion (more on this at a later date). Once again, it’s like learning a song, lines
for an actor, or lessons for a curriculum – you need to transfer it from your
short term memory bank to the long term memory bank – because once it’s there,
it’s now hardwired in place of, or at the very least, parallel to the old, pathological
hardwired thought. So, it’s not “I’m not
angry”, it’s more like, “I was angry, but now I understand WHY I was angry, and
that reason invaded my mind before my brain was fully developed, so it’s more
like a short circuit that needs to be repaired”. I’ll say this often here – never try to treat
a symptom, you must always treat the problem, trying to treat the symptom will
only make the problem worse – and may even add more bad than you started with. This is where total honesty is crucial – you cannot
face reality without being totally honest with YOU. Which brings me to this – most people have
been conditioned to think that big bad reality is something to be feared –
well, it’s not. It’s all the demons that
lurk in our minds that are causing all the grief – demons that were installed
there before our bodies and minds arrived at some semblance of maturity. Even death is not something that should be
feared to the point of obsession – we’ll all gonna leave this body we’re in at
some point. Protect yourself from
reckless, death defying behavior, but fighting death obsessively has never done
any person any good. Think about this –
in 150 years, every person on the planet will be dead, and in a few million
years, this solar system will no longer be here – it will have exploded, the
matter that it consisted of will be blasted into space – to meld with other
matter to form new solar systems, new life – likely life that will be an
improvement over what’s here now.
I believe that everything is random – there is no
preconceived plan for any of us as individuals. I've never seen anything to indicate otherwise.
Part of our life depends on what we do, and part depends on outside
forces that act on us. You can control
your life to some small degree, the rest happens as it happens. I, personally, am not arrogant enough to
think that I have much, if any control over my life – again, things happen as
they happen. I believe we must try to achieve
some kind of balance – meaning learning the difference between what we can
control, and what we can’t, and being ok with all of it. With all that is around us at this particular
time in earh’s timeline, we can contract diseases and conditions, BUT, we can
control them to a much larger degree than we have been told, in fact, we can
often prevent most of it. Sometimes, the
environment will have more effect on a particular person than other times. Sometimes the individual will be able to rid
himself or herself of dreaded diseases and conditions, other times not. I also believe that anything we do in this
puny life will matter in the long run – what we do will be stored in the sub
atomic memory bank and be passed on to the next life form that it becomes a
part of (this is what some people have perceived as “previous life”), and will
remain part of the memory, as will everything before and after the atoms were
part of your particular being, at the particular time you were present in the
line of the universe’s life. The moral of
this section is that while it doesn’t always appear easy to do, you can always
do good things, and those things will matter, ever how small, for as long as
the universe is in existence. You can
change most things about yourself – not by convincing yourself, or suppressing
anything, but by studying and learning.
Think about it this way – if you can change some, most, or all of your
bad thoughts, that will be stored in the atoms that you are made of, and the
atoms that you’ve acted on, and this will carry on to all offspring – resulting
in some future organism’s life, whatever you did will steer that organism to a
slightly, or maybe not so slightly better direction than it would have if you
would have just let what happened to you when you were little cause you to do
bad things to yourself and your surroundings.
That’s not to mention what it will do for you.
So, this law of inertia – it applies to behaviors of all
kinds – including self inflicted pain and suffering, health conditions and
diseases of all kinds, addictions, and others.
If you are the hypochondriac, you can try to look into your childhood to
see why you think you’re gonna be sick all the time – there will always be a
reason there, you just have to find it.
If you’re an alcoholic or drug user, same, look into your
pre-five-year-old life to see why – again, there will always be a reason there –
just gotta find it. One of the basics of
these conditions is that we fear pain – both physical and emotional. We are conditioned to think that such pain is
unbearable, and will surely kills us – but damn, if you really think about it,
pain is just part of life, and if you can see the true perspective of what pain
is, you’ll see that it’s not so devastating after all, in fact, it can be
perceived as something good. I know,
sounds crazy and hippie dippie, but well, it’s not, it’s the way it is. If you’re angry all the time, it’s in your
pre-five years – try to find it. On
finding that, it’s not always easy, you may have to hunt for a psychologist who
does not belong to the new age B.S. that’s all around you. Then, once you find it, you’ll need to figure
out what to do with it (the traumas). We’ll
get into that later. I say again, it
would be in your best interest to stay as far away from “Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy” as you possibly can. These
beliefs I speak of here have some resemblance to Freudian belief system, which
seems to have been abandoned. I believe that that system is much more
effective in treating the problem as opposed to the symptom, and
makes a hell of a lot more sense than that bunch of Cognitive Behavioral nonsense,
in fact, there is some amount of good ideas in that (Freudian) school of
thought – but again, take what you need from it, and reject the rest, or maybe
save it for later. In my own life, I
found Nichiren Shoshu Buddhism (the traditional faction) to be immensely helpful. Others find yoga to be the way, meditation,
and a whole slew of other methods. And,
there’s no law that says you can’t come up with your own. I don’t recommend prayer as defined by
organized religion, Christian based, Judaism based, deity based systems –
because with them you are speaking to something that may or may not be real,
and, you’re putting too much control in the hands of something you know nothing
about, as well as in the hands of unscrupulous people.
Ok, to sum up, behavior is learned, and almost always
developed in the first five years of life.
Pain is not unbearable, and not to be feared so badly that it affects
your ability to function. If you’re an alcoholic,
alcoholism is not the problem, it’s a symptom – and to hell with putting a band
aid on the symptom, find the problem, and deal with that. Everything you do in your life will affect
all life forms hereafter, any small change for the better will affect it in a
good way, and will affect you in your lifetime – also in a good way.
I’ll discuss all of these things in more detail at a
later date. I say again, you can cut and
paste what you think applies to you, and read it as you can, as you have time,
as you feel.
