Few things are more peaceful than boats in a harbor.
Hi all, and thank you for being here. First things first. I want you all to know that I am not here to sell you anything, I have nothing for sale - and I mean NOTHING - no tapes, no CDs, no DVDs, no ebooks, nothing. You will not get to a certain point, then be asked for your credit card information. I offer all of this with the intention of helping the world - not necessarily people, but the world. Being the misanthrope that I am, I put this stuff here more for me than for people.
You will not find anything politically correct, you will not find lies, half truths, or distortions.
The second, and equally important thing is, in order to absorb a new way, you cannot just read it once and forget about it, because, you will forget about it. It's like learning anything else, you need to study it, like learning a song, lines for an actor, lessons in a particular curriculum, or any philosophy. This is a philosophy, so if you want to get it, it's best that you get it into the permanent part of your memory banks. The way to do that is to read it until it's part of your way of thinking. You will all have your own way of studying something, what works for me is to just read over and over until I get it, until the contents are reflexive. You can bookmark this page, or, you can cut and paste the parts that you think will help you, and/or apply to you, as I said, whatever works for you.
In this blog you will find unorthodox ideas and information, most of which is against what you read in self help books, and what you hear from the “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy” crowd. I will probably mention that school of thought often here, mostly with a negative undertone, being that I believe that system is horribly flawed, and is largely contributing to the deterioration of mental health – both in America and the world. You'll also hear me address the current health care system, including Big Pharmaceutical, Big Retail, the FDA, Monsanto, and other such contributors to the epidemic of physical, and related mental illness. One claim I will make is that the information here is much more effective than any of the systems I see all around me - systems that make claims that they rarely live up to. I am not a doctor, I’m not a mental health professional, I only speak from my own experiences, from my own observations, and from information that I’ve stumbled across in my fifty some years of life.

My belief is that the human body has basic systems,
systems that are in place to perform certain functions. Physical healing is
one, mental and emotional healing is another.
The former is simpler, easier to grasp, the latter, well, a little more
complicated, and does not necessarily work all on its own. I do not believe in
genetic makeup that presents conditions such as diabetes (Type II – the kind
you acquire via bad eating habits and lack of exercise), obesity, tendency
toward drug and alcohol use, and bad behavior. I’m not limiting my ideas
and beliefs to these, this is just a basic description of what I will be
discussing, and what I’ll be sharing.
People who are much smarter and more enlightened that I am agree that
life includes pain, suffering, grief, loss, unpleasantness, and eventually,
death. We as humans have been taught – by preaching (media, Hollywood, printed
media, and more recently, the internet) and by example, to hide from the more
unpleasant aspects of life. What I've learned is that when we are able to accept said unpleasantness, grief, pain, and whatever else, they are not as devastating as we previously may have thought. We are also
taught to blame anything and everything for what we create and maintain, but “Be
responsible for your actions” has been grossly overused, and has, for the most
part, lost its meaning. Part of living
life, part of our path, includes this pain and suffering, and yes, also
includes death – death is part of life – and nothing in the universe is immune
from the cycle of life. The way I see death is, it’s not an ending, it’s just a
reformation of matter, nothing more, nothing less. Me, personally, when it’s my time to leave
this human body, I will welcome it. When unpleasant times present themselves,
while I generally don’t enjoy them, I accept them, live with them, try to learn
from them, and yes, I try to set up my future to where there will be less
unpleasant times; BUT, I don't try to hide from them. There are people who actually embrace all these parts of life, they don't try to incite bad times, they simply know and accept that unpleasant situations and conditions present themselves. Better to embrace them, or at least accept them, rather that be devastated, right? That’s not to say that
I, or anyone else, always, or even mostly succeeds at the task of avoiding, accepting, or embracing all the unpleasant times, but that’s the
intention, the plan, the way to better my life.
One thing I will never do is try to hide from the unpleasant times –
meaning I will not try to numb my brain with drugs, nor will I take out my frustrations and/or anger on innocent people. On drugs, I define “Drug” as any substance that is
concocted, manufactured, built, or otherwise synthesized in a laboratory, test
tube, Petrie dish, or other such unnatural setting. This includes derivatives that may start out
as a plant or other naturally occurring organism. I consider cocaine a drug, heroin a drug,
opium and its relatives a drug, and anything you get at the local pharmacy –
yes, I consider a drug. Marijuana in its
original from – not a drug (I don’t imbibe, but I still don’t consider it a drug),
any plant or herb in its original form – not a drug. There are some plants have
hallucinogenic properties, I don’t consider them drugs. I personally
am not knowledgeable on such plants or herbs, so it’s likely I won’t be discussing
that at length here – unless the subject should present itself in a way that I feel the
need to research it, at which time, I will discuss it to the extent that I'm capable.
The purpose of all that I write here is twofold. One, to
offer people a more realistic, and more honest way to achieve good mental and physical
health, and two, to try to combat the harmful and destructive systems that are
rampant these days – especially, as previously mentioned, “Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy”. One thing that has become
common knowledge, and undeniable, is that mental and physical ailments and conditions are
in epidemic proportions, with these new age, what I refer to as “Pop Psychology”,
or “Pop Psych” systems in place, they contribute to making these problems all the worse. We get doused with bad information from so many
sources, somebody needs to expose that stuff for what it is, so that might as
well be me :D.
One last thought. As previously mentioned, I don’t claim to be a doctor, mental
health expert or professional. I don't claim to have the cure for cancer. What I do believe, though, is that each of us has the ability to fight off, in fact, prevent dreaded diseases and conditions, that we can greatly reduce the likelihood of falling victim to it. I also
don’t claim to be smarter than anybody else, my only claim is that I’m more
honest and realistic, and that is what you will find here – an honest, realistic approach to
good health. Thank you once again for
being here, and I hope you will find information here that will be of help to
you.
